Biography:
Mariah Carey was born on March 27, 1970 in Huntington, New York. She released her self-titled debut album in 1990 under the guidance of Tommy Mottola, an executive from Columbia Records. It went multi-platinum and such records as Emotions, Music Box and Merry Christmas became huge successes.
She went on to gain further success when she released Daydream in 1995, where her collaboration with Boyz II Men, “One Sweet Day”, became and remains the longest-running number-one song in US chart history.
She has since sold more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling recording artists of all time.
