Biography:
Kate Mara was born on February 27, 1983 in Bedford, New York. She is the older sister of actress Rooney Mara.
She was accepted at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theatre. She eventually decided not to go as she was already working as an actress.
Her first television role was in the drama Law & Order. In 2004, she was cast as the lead in the WB pilot Prodigy. She also had her film debut in Random Hearts with Harrison Ford.
